Hi everyone! It's Sharon here from Michigan posting this week for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday team. For those of you who are new to this blog, we welcome you to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge! We are so happy to have you join us! And for those loyal followers of SSW, we welcome you back and thank you for your support!

I know I speak for the whole SSW team when I tell you how excited we get to see all the amazing creativity you share with us week after week. There are so many talented crafters that bless us with your online friendship and support. We are so very thankful for that. You are all an inspiration to us.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday is making some changes to the challenge rules effective today. We are trying to put more of an emphasis on our generous and dedicated sponsors and do more to promote their images. So with the new sketch released today, please take note of the following:

1. Create a card using the sketch of the week. Remember to follow it without changing the orientation or flipping it. A flower can be any embellishment or a sentiment. Small dots can be brads, jewels, pearls, flowers or other embellishments. Remember to follow the main layout and shape of the sketch. For example: If the sketch is an oval, it needs to be an oval. A vertical rectangle needs to be a vertical rectangle. However, if the layer behind a circle is a zigzag, it can be a scallop, another circle or whatever you want it to be.

2. Use an image from this week’s sponsor (A Day For Daisies). Feel free to use one of their freebies, if available. We appreciate our sponsor’s generosity in offering you a prize for your creativity!

3. Post this week’s sketch along with your card on your blog with a link back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

4. If posting to an online gallery, please use Sweet Sketch Wednesday #138

5. Click into Inlinkz to add your card to this week’s sketch challenge.

6. Leave a comment for us on this blog. You must do this to be considered for the Grand Prize.

Welcome everyone it's Kathie posting this week from Auckland New Zealand the City of Sails and we are in the middle of our summer. Long summers nights, BBQ's and the children swimming at the beach that sunshine feels so good and we feel so revitalized!!!

Can you believe it we are half way through January already? It only feels like yesterday we were all getting ready and of course excited because Christmas was only around the corner. I was in a shop on Saturday and they had Valentines stock and Easter Eggs for sale!!! I'm only getting over having a house full of guests for Christmas and Christmas shopping.

My boys eat very little sweets, my youngest has just started liking White Chocolate but hates brown Chocolate and he's 10 and Liam isn't a big sweet eater either but does love Chocolate and Caramel filled Eggs. Even at 10 and 12 years old they still love Easter Egg hunts in the garden and their Christmas Stockings.

This is Arlana posting this week. I hope you had a wonderful week in the New Year. As we get ready to embark upon a new year, I hope that you will be able to come here often and enjoy in our creative fun. We look forward in seeing all of the cards that you will make using my sketch. May we continue to inspire you with our creativity. I am very thankful to have two wonderful sisters and a fabulous design team that help keep this blog up and running. I can't thank them enough.

Hi, this is Patti and I am your host for this week's post...can you believe that another week has passed us by? I always feel that I am in overdrive from September until the end of December. I hope that you are taking the time to enjoy this beautiful and blessed season. I have decorated both inside and outside, hope to get my cards in the mail today and the tree is next. My shopping is finished, other than a few stocking stuffers. I have plans to enjoy the rest of the month with family and friends!

My niece and I have plans later this month to get together and make candies and cookies as an honor to my mother and hers (my sister) who have both passed on. We can remember the times in the kitchen with them and have some goodies to split for the holidays. Hope you have plans to create your own memories this season.

Holiday Happiness
This is Arlana posting this week. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As Thanksgiving is over and as we get ready to embark upon another holiday, I hope that we can enjoy this special time of year and keep enjoying family, friends, fun and laughter.

I feel that we have all become great friends on this blog. May you continue to enjoy my sketches. Come here often as we enjoy seeing your sweet creations.

This week I am posting a added give away from my talented daughter who is a professional photographer. I love her work and she is just so incredible. She made this digital card with my sketch and added her texture pack. Her give away will be done separately from mine and will be announced next week.

SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY 129-33 Happy Thanksgiving

This is Nancy from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team as your host today. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I can't help but think about all of the things that I am blessed with. I hope you will take the time to reflect on your blessing too.
Times are tuff for everyone these days, but if we stop and count our blessing, I think each one of use can find that we are richly blessed. As I look back over the years, I find that my family is one of my most priceless blessing. The fond memories that we have shared at Thanksgiving and Christmas mean so much to me, As do other memoreis that I have gained throughout the years.
Most of us have memories of waking up on Thanksgiving to our mothers busy in the kitchen preparing the turkey or baking pumpkin pies. The smell from either one of these would make our mouths water. We could hardly wait until the food was on the table. Our whole family would gather together and we would stuff ourselves with food until we couldn't eat any more. I remember saying that "I will never do that again". The next year would come and we would do that same thing all over again. Mom's cooking was out of this world. Oh, how I miss her cooking.

My husband, his brothers and our son would always sneak out for awhile before dinner was ready and play a game of football at a nearby park. It became a tradition that they looked forward to every year. A lot of times the weather wasn't very good so they would come home with dirt and mud from head to toe.
Doesn't it feel so good to know that no matter where we live, what demomination we might be, the we have these holidays to bring those we love together and cherish most. I hope that you will take a moment on Thanksgiving and count those blessings and give thanks. Give a hug to your husband or wife, your mother or father.....and don't forget big hugs for the kids. Let's be a little more forgiving and love each other a little more. Give thanks for our military and the tremendous sacrifice they have made for us in protecting our freedoms. Give thanks for this beautiful earth that we live in.....the list goes on and on....

Hello Sweet Sketch Wednesday followers.

This is Kathie posting this week for

SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY

from Pukekohe in the North Island of New Zealand.

Well Spring has sprung here in New Zealand, we are having some amazing days some are very warm and the others are very changeable, typical Spring weather. If you were in the South Island during the weekend it Snowed and for us in the North Island Friday & Saturday were lovely days and Saturday evening was really cold it felt a little like winter again. Sunday I was off to play Tennis with my boys and it rained all day so they were very disappointed. I was also NOT as I knew they would beat me.

New Zealander's are still coming down to earth after our wonderful

"All Blacks"

won the world cup in Rugby. They waited for 24 years to win this Trophy and now it's come home where it belongs again and will stay in

New Zealand for another 4 years.

We are the Champions of the World.

The "All Blacks" doing the Haka before every game.

If you've never seen the Haka performed it runs shivers

down your spine and makes your hairs on your arms stick up.

Haka (singular is the same as plural: haka) is a traditional ancestral war cry,dance or challenge from the Maori People of New Zealand. The New Zealand Rugby Team's practice of performing a haka before their matches has made the dance more widely known around the world.

A Sweet Sketch Just for You

Well "HELLO" and happy Wednesday!! Do you know the origins of "Wednesday?" I know I didn't, so here's a little fun facts about it:

The mid-day of the week is named for the Norse God, Odin. He was also known as Woden or Wotan. Unlike many of the other days of the week, this day did not correspond roughly with the Roman designation for the day. (The Roman's named Wednesday for the messenger god - Mercury - In Romanian, the day is still known as miercuri). The early Scandanavians and Germans believed that Odin was the chief god of Asgard and as such deserved to have a day of the week named for him. The Anglo-Saxons used the word, Wodnesdaeg.

Wednesday is often referred to as "hump day" because of its position as the middle day of the work week. If the work week were a hill, then Wednesday would be the crest. It is all down hill from there. Whether the down hill ride is a coast or a descent into a swamp is left to the individual.

We here at Sweet Sketch Wednesday think of hump day as a sweet ride into creativeness! Here is the next sketch you get to use:

I'm posting from Buxton, Derbyshire, England and I am the newbie DT member. I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying my time with this wonderful team. Happy Sweet Sketch Wednesday 122!!

Hello ~ You've got Jeannie here from Dragonfly Journeys on the Design Team as your hostess for this weeks post, and we are so excited to tell you about our new sponsor....Krista from Saturated Canary! My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. Before showing you what our team has created to inspire you this week, I would like to show you something else. When I joined this great group at SSW this past summer, they were in the midst of sharing pictures and information on their home towns. It was like a mini vacation and a glimpse into the lives of my new friends. And from the comments posted by some of you, I think that you enjoyed it as well. I am going to post some pictures today of my stamping space, as I am one that enjoys seeing where others create and find inspiration and I think that maybe you do as well. I haven't discussed this with my teammates and some of them may not be able to do this, but guys if you do, I will love seeing your rooms.

I have a flat and a drafting table on which to work, this gives me a view out of either window and plenty of space to work. I re-purposed lots of furniture to create my space in this spare bedroom. All of my drawers that you can see hold ribbon, embellishments and tools, as well as extra cards and supplies. I left a twin bed here in the room, my cats love sleeping on it while I work and it gives me a place to spread out work sometimes.

This chest holds all of my wood mounted Stampin' Up stamps as well as a drawer of miscellaneous brands.

My die cutting area. My scraps are filed by colors in the large file boxes on the bottom shelf.

Here is my inspiration, Sable. He is never very far away when I am working in here, and sometimes you will find his brother Salem curled up with him.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 119 and A Day For Daisies

Hello Sweet Sketch Wednesday followers. This is Nancy posting this week for
SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY
from Northern Arizona. We are finally cooling off here a little bit. Instead of being in the 90's it is in the 70's. I think that fall may be just around the corner. It is still really hot down in Phoenix and I am really glad I don't live there. It is like stepping into a furnace in the summer time. Phoenix has also had some horrible dust storms this year called "Haboob". I live an hour and a half away from Phoenix and I woke up one morning after one of their dust storms and we had a thick haze which looked like fog over all of the city that I live in. The dust had come all the way up here. People that have asthma really had a hard time with all the dirt in the air. We are still experiencing the monsoons here with late afternoon thunder showers. It has been so nice to have the rain.

Welcome to Sweet Sketch Wednesday! This is Sharon from the design team posting this week from Michigan, the Great Lakes State. If you're a new visitor here at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, we extend to you a warm welcome and our open arms of online friendship. Before we get to the new sketch, we have some wonderful news to share with you today. We are just tickled pink to announce that Michelle Lancaster has joined the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team and I know you'll find her creations inspiring. Here's a little bit of background on Michelle:

My name is Michelle Lancaster and I now live in Buxton, Derbyshire, England but I am originally from Liverpool, Merseyside. I have lived in Buxton for just over a year. I started making cards about 3.5 years ago and I am totally hooked. My favourite method is stamping and I am longing to learn different colouring techniques, especially colouring using distress inks. I do love other crafts such as cross stitching and beading amongst others. I have a cute 5 year old son called Brandon and a gorgeous, elderly cat call Suki (my shadow). We all live with my partner of 19 years Col. Oh yes, mustn't forget them.... we also have two gerbils but their names are still undecided.
